Privacy
Privacy at Basnote
Basnote (bassnote.site) is a free bass guitar practice app with no accounts, no ads and no sign-up. Its own code sets no cookies. This page describes the code as of the date below, so you can check it in your browser’s developer tools.
Microphone and audio
The live bass trainer asks your browser for an audio input (audio interface or microphone) only after you choose to connect. The sound is analysed inside your browser to find its pitch. It is not recorded, saved or uploaded: the app has no recording code and nothing that sends audio, or anything made from it, over the network. The accompaniment studio’s Logic Pro section can also open an audio input, with the same limits.
Play-along and demo modes do not use the microphone. You can withdraw the permission in your browser’s site settings.

Analytics
Basnote counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics. Its documentation says it uses no third-party cookies and recognises a visitor only by a hash of the request, discarded after 24 hours. The data it may store: timestamp, page URL, referrer, country, region and city, device type, operating system and browser. Source: Vercel’s privacy documentation.
The app reports each view you open as a page view, plus these events: live_connect (mode: live, demo or denied), live_run_done (mode: live or demo; scored: yes or no), play_along_start (genre: the style family), share (kind: scale_link), export (kind: midi, musicxml or tab) and lang_switch (to: en or tr). Static pages send landing_cta (page_type, lang) when you press a button into the app. Audio, device names and typed text are never included. utm_ campaign tags on your arrival link stay on your first page view.
To opt out in a browser, run this in its developer console on bassnote.site:
localStorage.setItem('va-disable', '1')
While that key exists, the app and the static pages send no analytics. localStorage.removeItem('va-disable') counts you again.
Third parties
None. Fonts, scripts, images, audio and 3D models all come from bassnote.site. The analytics script loads from this site too and reports to Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps ordinary request logs under its privacy policy. Research links to doi.org load only if you follow them.
